Most of the organophosphorus flame retardants have the advantages of low smoke, non-toxic, low halogen and no halogen, which are in line with the development direction of flame retardants and have a good development prospect. Organophosphorus flame retardants include phosphate esters, phosphite esters, phosphate esters, organophosphorus salts, phosphate heterocyclic compounds and polymer phosphorous (phosphine) esters, etc., but the most widely used are phosphate esters and phosphorous esters, and the research on phosphorous flame retardants is in the making, with many reports annually, mainly focusing on the latter two. The mechanism of action of phosphorus additive is that the flame retardant can produce more stable cross-linked solid substance or carbonized layer when heated. On the one hand, the formation of carbonized layer can prevent the further pyrolysis of the polymer, on the other hand, it can prevent its internal thermal decomposition products from entering the gas phase to participate in the combustion process.
